Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

For generations, men have used various techniques to improve their physical looks. Sometimes no amount of diet and exercise will shape unsightly bulges. In men, fat tends to deposit and accumulate above the waist, on the abdomen, sides of waist or on their chest.  Men who have enlarged breasts can benefit from a surgery called gynecomastia, a simple and very safe technique of Liposuction.

It is a fact that 90% of all adolescent boys will develop male breast enlargement to one extent or another. Though it frequently resolves, it still persists in a great many men as they grow into adulthood. Gynecomastia (man boobs) is rather common, and the good news is that it is very treatable.

In recent years, the treatment of gynecomastia has finally become mainstream and accepted. It is not just the weightlifters and teenagers with the really bad cases seeking reduction; it is the men in their 30s 40s and 50s with just enough extra tissue in their chest for them not to look as good as they should.

Unlike women who talk to one another about their breast augmentation, men do not talk to each other about gynecomastia. They hide it under their clothes, and so even their best friends are often totally unaware of the bulges. Thanks to the Internet, men can now privately research words such as, "gynecomastia," "male breast reduction," "males breasts," "man boobs," "male chest reduction," etc., and learn that there is a very effective solution.

There are two common methods for treating male chest enlargement, liposuction and excision. Liposuction is ideal for the reduction of fat, because fat is soft and is easily removed through the liposuction instrument (much like a straw.) However, firm and glandular gynecomastia tissue cannot be removed by liposuction; it needs to be excised.

Gynecomastia surgery can range from $6,000 - $8,000 depending on the actual procedure suggested. It is about a 2 hour surgery and is performed by Dr. Partington in our Accredited Surgical Center.
