JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC

The first and only FDA-approved filler to correct age-related volume
loss in the mid face. With optimal treatment, natural-looking results
that last up to 2 years!

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel is indicated for deep (subcutaneous and/or supraperiosteal) injection for cheek augmentation to correct age-related volume deficit in the mid-face in adults over the age of 21.

“What is it?”

Injectables are a great way to shave years off your face without having to go under the knife. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel is a smooth, colorless hyaluronic acid (HA) gel that contains a small quality of local anesthetic. HA is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. The role of HA in the skin is to deliver nutrients and help the skin retain its natural moisture and softness.

The addition of the local anesthetic (Lidocaine) helps to improve the comfort of the injection making the procedure more comfortable and faster than ever!

This product is made with Allergan’s proprietary VYCROSS™ technology, an advanced manufacturing process that results in a smooth gel that flows easily and consistently. This unique formulation contributes to the lift capacity to correct volume loss in the mid face area.

“What will I look like after the treatment?”

After your injections have been performed, you will notice immediate results. The skin might appear a bit pink for the first couple hours. You can apply a mineral makeup directly to the skin after the service for a quick camouflage of the injection site. Some patients may experience bruising and tenderness in the injection area. This is common and will fade after a few days. Bruising is another reason why a mineral makeup is nice to have after your injection.

“Who else is getting cosmetic injectables?”

Injections are Hollywood’s best kept secret. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, who states she is obsessed with injectables and laser treatments, are enhancing their look without surgery. Simon Cowell compares his botox and fillers to toothpaste saying “I’ve just gotta have it!” and Jenny McCarthy says she gets injections every year in her cheeks, “for the feminine kitty cat look”.

Some take it a step further and go for a liquid facelift, a general term that usually involves a combination of fillers and Botox to shape the face. There is virtually no downtime but, unlike with a surgical facelift, the fillers will eventually need to be touched up.
